The Freeplay Summit multi-band radio combines the best of radio and self-sufficient energy technology. This top-end radio offers its user the choice of three power options: wind-up, solar and rechargeable power. The wind-up mechanism is the world's most efficient human energy conversion system. The winder can be cranked in both directions and the harder it is cranked, the more energy you create. A crank level LED indicates the optimum winding speed, but the only limitation to how much energy you can create and store is you. The Summit's highly efficient and robust solar panel is powerful enough when exposed to sufficient sunlight that it can both, charge the internal rechargeable NiMH battery, and drive the radio at the same time. Even when not in use, if left in direct sunlight the radio will store solar energy in it's battery.

In a compact and stylish design, the Summit radio is fitted with a DC input facility to accommodate the AC/DC worldwide travel adaptor (supplied) and an earphone socket for personal listening. The key features of the Summit include coverage of 4 wave bands (FM/MW/SW/LW), digital tuning and 30 station presets. Alarm clock with snooze feature and 30 digital presets. The Summit is not only stylish and self-sufficient, it also sounds great offering fantastic reception capabilities, and even has a headphone jack for added user convenience. The high performance speaker used will ensure excellent sound quality even at higher playback volumes.
